European Blackjack
As the name suggests, European Blackjack is a variation of blackjack commonly played in European countries. The objective of European Blackjack is the same as any other blackjack game. You want to draw to a hand with a value as close to 21 as possible without going over but you want to beat the dealer. To cement the win, your hand's value must exceed the value of the dealer's hand.

The value of each card is their 'face value.' In other words, a 2 is worth 2 points, a 5 is worth 5 points and a 9 is worth 9 points. This applies to all cards 2 thru 10. Picture cards such as jacks, queens and kings are worth 10 points. Aces are worth one point or eleven; whichever is more advantageous for the player. The suit of each card is completely irrelevant. Natural blackjacks will win as well. Similar to the game of blackjack, natural blackjacks in European Blackjack will pay at the rate of 3:2. That means for every $1 wager you make, a natural blackjack will return your initial wager plus $1.50.
If both you and the dealer have a hand with the same value, this is a tie, or a "push," and neither of you win. You will be given your wager back. This is where most of the similarities end between European Blackjack and blackjack.
